The Groeninge Museum provides a varied overview of the history of Belgian visual art, with as highlight the world-renowned Flemish primitives.
Inspired by Jan van Eyck and other 15th-century Flemish painters, 40 artists came together over 60 days to produce sculptures for a new museum in Bruges.
The St. John’s Hospital was once the most important medieval clinic in Bruges. The infirmaries have been converted into a museum with artworks from Hans Memling.
The museum displays the interior of a house in the late Middle Ages, and a collection of applied arts in former Bruges, ranging from the 15th to the 19th century.
Arentshuis is neighbour to the Groeninge Museum and houses temporary exhibitions on the ground floor. Upstairs is dedicatet to the British artist Frank Brangwyn.
